I'll write more later...for the moment, I wanted to get this poem up....sitting at The Crossings over lunch in beautiful Hill Country just north of Austin, TX on retreat, reflecting on the retreat I'd just come from in the Sandia Mountains of New Mexico this poem got written and I wanted to share it here ~
Spirit moves
Stalks in fields
Shimmering
In light of the wind
Harvesting gratitude for my
Breath
As the compost
Warms
Through my carefully constructed layers
The decay of yesterday's
Overzealous plate,
An offering
Welcomed.
And in the dark embrace
A transformation
Under eight
Or maybe nine
Constant Moons,
Turning the inside
Out to face the sun,
Breaking down form
To Essence
Already shared.
In time this tender care
Bursting forth;
Another harvest of
My gratitude.

Help

Hey Scott,
Thank you for the beautiful poem and food for thought….guess where I am at this very moment….Texas Hill Country :)
I'm in Dripping Springs until the 19th, I have been here the last few weeks. Funny how life is. Love you much my friend and so glad to see you are well!
Tara
Hi Tara!
Great to hear from you :) Dripping Springs eh? Whatcha doin' there?
Love,
Scott
Craig has been teaching horsemanship and roping clinics here in Texas for the last 3 weekends, so I joined him for the travels. I myself have been looking at what's next for me and I have finally started writing a book on my work…wish me luck and we'll see how it goes.
Love you and tell me what's new and wonderful with you…
Very cool! I have a friend named Kate there who teaches people to ride horses using only breath, no reins and no commands ~ literally going from a full gallop to a full stop with only a change in breath.
WOW that sounds so amazing! Does she have a website or anything? I would love to read more about what she does as that sounds so incredibly freeing and amazing!
