Man, this Wilber guy is something! I finished ONE TASTE early Monday morning and was blown away...I'm now about 1/3 through NO BOUNDARY and am following it up with INTEGRAL PSYCHOLOGY. Just going to go for it now and read all the books in the next month or two....my own private Integral education. The value of this material is beyond compare...it creates context for context itself...
At some point I've got to spend some time with him...

I just ordered and received A Brief History of Everything (by Ken Wilber) and look forward to diving into it (after April 15 - I am a tax guy after all). Could you expand a little on what exactly about Wilber is blowing you away? What do you see as the value of his material? Most of the reviews/articles I have read about Wilber have been mostly hot (blown away type comments) or completely cold (extremely critical). Thanks.
So two things come up for me this morning Michael - one is the lucidity with which he describes his own spiritual unfolding and experiences in such a way that I have my own experiences while reading about his…the become like “pointing out instructions”. The second is the seeming ease with which he sythesises vast amounts of information into a cohesive workable map….and by engaging ever deeper with this map, I'm experiencing my own worldview expanding dramatically and inclusively.
How's that for a start?
Pretty good start, Scott. I will give you my impression of A Brief History of Everything after I digest it. Thanks.
Cool…thanks! That's later on the list for me…I think after these next two, I'll be on to Sense and Spirit
What Wilber book should I start with? What's this on integral Psychology?
I started with his more personal writings to get into his style…GRACE AND GRIT followed by ONE TASTE. He writes a bit like a scholar…so reading his more personal stuff first gave me access to his writing style and made the other writings more readable. The KOSMIC CONSCIOUSNESS cd set is a great way to get into his work too ;)
I second that-Ken Wilbur is -well I don't have the words yet and I am a wordy person. I started with One Taste and hope to read Grace and Grit when I can sit with a box of tissues, no children calling Mommy, and just my own space…
