Loving Resistance

Being dedicated as a healer, I find myself more often than not on the cutting edge of the sword....continually peeling away at the layers of illusion that arise in my own awareness. Some days it's easier than others. And some days it feels like swallowing a blow torch and being burned out from the inside.
But unless I keep doing the work myself, the work with my clients...or even my expansion into life stalls.
One of the areas I've been putting a lot of attention on lately is dissolving resistance. Resistance is a normal, par-for-the-course sort of thing to have come up in any sort of healing or transformational setting. As far as I understand it, the separtive natured ego is designed to survive, to perpetuate the belief in and experience of being separate (from other people, from God/Source, Love...etc). One of the ways this manifests is in resistance...resistance to Love, essentially.
How I "hold" this resistance makes all the difference...particularly in session. I am so committed to my clients living in total freedom that historically when I've noticed any subtle or not so subtle resistance in the space...I've had my own resistance arising against the resistance. Some old paradigm of meeting resistance with force.
This just doesn't work...it's a subtle version of a war mentality. And all it does is fortify the resistance.
And I've noticed that it's a mirroring of subtle warring within.
So my practice has been to feel into the resistance and imagine actually bringing it into a safe and loving embrace...as I would a puppy or a baby...really holding it in this compassionate loving embrace...essentially, allowing it to be exactly the way that it is.
And there's this alchemy taking place...when I allow it to be as it is, loving it as it is....what is begins to reveal its True Face...which is Love (the Infinite Unmanifest)...the substrate for existence.
So as I continue this practice within, I'm noticing clients having much more self-compassion in dealing with their own resistance. Actually being able to become aware of it, willing to be responsible for it, and feeling empowered to work with it.
There's just no room for me to stop growing, healing, and expanding my capacity to be the clearest expression of Love and Truth. And I wouldn't want to...
I remember something I heard in a transformational course a number of years ago - Yesterday's transformation is today's ego trip...
There's just no arriving...just a continual letting go into the freefall of Love...noticing the contraction, the clenching, the separative pull of the ego, and just letting go....letting go into the perpetual freefall of Infinite Love.

Help

This resonates very deeply within me as well…. thank you for sharing this! Perfect timing for me, really! I think this is a valuable perspective that needs to be addressed; even in working with the Laws of Attraction … it's one thing to attract the Love energy … and another thing to being OPEN to allowing it to manifest in ways that serve your highest purpose, not the ego.
thank you for allowing this expression to be shared with the rest of us. i feel that it's impeccable timing on my end as well. i'm noticing today many people are vibating love and wisdom and sending that out. maybe it has something to do with the coming energetic shift tomorrow…hmmm. anyhow, thank you. i've read about and talked to people who have practiced this type of acceptance of what is, of non-resistance…i think it's time i attempt this again.
thanks nonamae :) i agree…it's time…what a gift eh?
Very well said, Scott. I feel inspired by your choice of words.
Thank you Scott for the beautiful way that you've addressed this topic.
Peace and love,
Donna

Love the resistance. Love the resistance. Love the resistance.
Thank you for this reminder. Hug the resistance. I needed this.
